Literary Festival

The Crossroads Literary Festival starts at noon on Sunday, October 2, in downtown Macon. The festival, which includes children’s activities, a writing marathon and some unique offerings, is free and open to the public with readings by many of the conference’s writers, including two special guests, best-selling novelist Joshilyn Jackson, who was recently named a 2011 Georgia Author of the Year, and the Macon-born author of “Praying for Sheetrock” and “The Temple Bombing,” Melissa Fay Greene, who was just inducted into the Georgia Writers’ Hall of Fame. • Friday Night: Kick-off Book Launch!

On Friday night, September 30, in partnership with Mercer University Press, we're proud to present the official book launch for the long-awaited "Writing on Napkins in the Sunshine Club." Edited by Kevin Cantwell and featuring numerous noted poets, this is an anthology of poetry written in, around and about Macon, Georgia.

We're getting together to celebrate its release with a reading at 7pm, followed by a Q&A with some of the attending poets, including David Bottoms, Anya Silver, Judson Mitchem, Kelly Whiddon and Seaborn Jones. The book launch will be in the Gallery Space, upstairs in the 567 Center. Admission is free.
